S2E20: Rita Brewer - Medicine Should Heal People, not Treat Symptoms

Rita Brewer has already set her eyes on the medical field at a very young age. She enjoyed her job as a surgical physician's assistant (PA) and she loves surgery, but as a lifelong learner, she continuously finds ways to grow more.

After going through all the conventional treatments for her autoimmune disease, she began her search for integrative therapies through energy medicine, lifestyle medicine, and functional medicine. That is where she found healing.

Being tired of a system that doesn't allow flexibility, she transitioned out of conventional medicine and started her health coaching practice incorporating the different integrative therapies she learned along the way. In this conversation, Rita discusses her life as someone who has a foot in both allopathic medicine and integrative practices, the limitations of conventional medicine, and her hopes to provide a holistic health environment.
